Pixelate Pty Ltd (ACN 699 872 752 / ABN 15 699 872 752) ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are

Pixelate Pty Ltd is an Australian web design studio. You can contact us at contact@pixelategroup.com.

2. What we collect

We collect information you give us, information needed to deliver our services, and business contact details we use to offer our services to potential clients. This may include:

  • Your name and business name
  • Your email address and phone number
  • Details you provide in our contact form or by email/phone
  • Information needed to build and manage your website (e.g. content, logins you choose to share)
  • Business contact details (such as a business name, phone number or email address) that we obtain from public sources or third-party providers so we can contact businesses that may be interested in our services
  • Basic, non-identifying website analytics (see "Cookies & analytics" below)

Where we obtain your business contact details from public sources or a provider rather than from you directly, we use them only to contact you about our services. You can ask us at any time to stop contacting you and to delete those details, and we will do so.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
  • To contact businesses that may be interested in our services
  • To deliver, manage and support the services you've engaged us for
  • To send you service-related updates and invoices
  • To improve our website and services

We do not sell your personal information. We will only use it for the purpose it was provided or obtained, or a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect. Any marketing contact we send includes a way to opt out or unsubscribe.

4. Cookies & analytics

Our website may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand general traffic (such as which pages are visited). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

4a. Our AI chat assistant

Our website includes an AI chat assistant. When you send it a message, that message is processed by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) solely to generate a reply, and is subject to their security and data-handling practices. The assistant is for general information only. Please don't enter sensitive personal information into the chat. We apply limits to how it can be used.

We also use AI to help us manage our own inbox: to keep track of which enquiries have been answered and what was agreed. This applies to correspondence you send us in the ordinary course of dealing with us, and it is used only for that purpose.

5. Who we share it with

We use trusted third-party providers to run our business, who may process limited information on our behalf, including:

  • Our form and hosting provider (for example, Netlify) to receive and store enquiries
  • Email and productivity tools to communicate with you
  • Our AI provider (Anthropic) to process chat messages, and to help us organise and respond to correspondence you send us, subject to their security and data-handling practices
  • Service providers needed to build or host your website
  • Our database provider (Supabase), where your site or our systems use a database

Some providers may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information securely.

6. How we store and protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure systems and limiting who can access it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

7. Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it, by emailing contact@pixelategroup.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

8. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to resolve it. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Pixelate Pty Ltd may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Any changes take effect from the date the revised version is posted. Your continued use of the site or our services after that date means you accept the updated Privacy Policy. If you have a signed Client Service Agreement with us, changes to that agreement are governed by its own terms, which prevail over this clause. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
